Run a practice contest first.

Most issues people hit on contest day come from using a feature for the first time under pressure. Before an important contest, we strongly recommend setting up a small practice contest – a handful of classes and contestants – and running it start to finish: import, print cards, scan, and export. It only takes a few minutes and it's the best way to catch anything unfamiliar before it matters.

Many common questions are already answered on the main FAQ, including what to do if a phone dies mid-contest, how to correct a scanning mistake, and what paper and pens work best.

Email support

Judging Scores is a free app, built and supported by a single independent developer. Support is provided on a best-effort basis – there's no live chat or phone line, and response times may be longer on evenings, weekends, and during peak contest season.

For anything urgent happening in the middle of a live contest, check the FAQ first – several answers there (like the backup-device steps) are written specifically for in-the-moment situations and don't require waiting on a reply.

What to include in your email.

App issues or unexpected behavior

Let us know your iPhone model, iOS version, and the app version (found in the app's settings), along with what you were doing when the issue happened. Screenshots help a lot if you're able to take one.

Scanning or OCR accuracy

If cards aren't scanning reliably, a photo of the physical card alongside what the app read can help us understand whether it's a lighting, paper, pen, or handwriting issue.

Feature requests or general feedback

Always welcome. Judging Scores was built around real contest tabulation needs, and feedback from people actually running contests is what shapes future updates.
